About Cunard Cruises
Cunard has a history going back to 1840, it is a history of opulence, of splendor and of sophistication - it is a remarkable legacy. In 1998 Cunard was acquired by Carnival and the plan to develop the niche that Cunard occupies in the hearts of many people got under way.
In 2004, Cunard launched what was then the longest, largest, highest and most expensive ship ever built. HRH Queen Elizabeth II christened the ship "Queen Mary 2" as she set off from Southampton across the Atlantic. The Queen Victoria was added in 2007 and 2010 sees the introduction of the Queen Elizabeth. All Cunard liners share the same luxurious experience, that quintessentially British ambience and elegance that evoke feelings of yesteryear.
Cunard pioneered the worldwide cruise and this continues to be the "once in a lifetime" itinerary to which cruise connoisseurs aspire. Indeed, it is customary for demand to well exceed supply for many sailings and you would be well advised to register your interest with our cruise specialists at your earliest opportunity.
Who books a Cunard Cruise?
Cunard exudes glamour, tradition and sophistication. There is a sociable atmosphere onboard though expect some British pomp and ceremony...
“Cunard on Cunard”
If travel is meant to be savoured, then crossing the oceans should be a majestic experience, not merely a hop across the pond, as some would have it. For travellers of this persuasion, only one name evokes the pleasures of a golden era. That name is Cunard Line.
The grand tradition of the classic ocean voyage is very much alive aboard the luxury liners of Cunard. And where once legends strolled the promenade, today so can you, proving that true luxury belongs to no particular era.
For over 160 years, Cunard has worked to make the art of cruising indistinguishable from the art of living well. Aboard the five-star vessels, and in unique adventures ashore, music and painting is blended with cuisine and conversation, invigorating walks with reading and relaxation, explorations of historic landmarks with the spectacle and purity of nature. This is the Cunard legacy: timeless elegance, incomparable service, intriguing destinations and, quite simply, a more cultured experience.
To travel on one of the Cunard ships today is to experience a part of that heritage and return to an era of unabashed opulence from the golden age of ocean travel. Imagine it. Across the oceans, in the lap of luxury to fabled cities and idyllic islands on a voyage bound only for pleasure.
Cunard, the tradition continues.

Queen Victoria
December 2007 saw a new Queen join the Cunard fleet, Queen Victoria, the second largest Cunarder ever built. For the first time in 168 years, three Queens sail together under the Cunard banner.
Distinguished by her red and black livery, Queen Victoria is a true Cunarder proudly upholding our famous heritage and traditions. She was ceremoniously named, by royalty, in her home port of Southampton on 10 December 2007.
Her interiors are warmly reminiscent of a more gracious era with a dramatic three-tiered Grand Lobby and sumptuous marbles, woods, plush carpets, rich fabrics and soft furnishings that simply exude elegance.
Warmly reminiscent of a more gracious era, modern technology combines seamlessly with her classic yet contemporary interior. Crafted to exude elegance with intricate mosaics, gleaming chandeliers and luxuriant marbles. Crafted too, for sublime comfort with plush carpets, rich fabrics and soft furnishings.
Queen Elizabeth
Autumn 2010 will further enhance Cunard’s illustrious reputation for exquisite ocean travel with the arrival of our newest liner, Queen Elizabeth. Recalling the rich heritage of the first Cunarder to bear the name, her elegance both echos that legendary age and enhances her luxurious modern allure.
The harmony of classic and contemporary strikes an elegant chord throughout this magnificent ship. Images and features from her predecessors, Queen Elizabeth and QE2, sit comfortably alongside her modern charm.
Within Queen Elizabeth’s sleek lines, the lavishness of eras past meets the thrilling future of ocean travel. Welcome, then, to the next elegant chapter in Cunard history.
Relive in modern glamour high society events of the 1930s and 1940s as you grace ornate rooms whose rich décor recalls the halcyon days when our first Queen Elizabeth ruled the waves.
Your entrance into this graceful realm is dramatic indeed, as you encounter the curved staircases, geometric patterns and spectacular artwork of the soaring Grand Lobby. Overlooking its stately grandeur is the two-tier Library, a calm haven of warm wood tones bathed in natural reading light and crowned with a fabulous leaded glass ceiling.
Opulent materials, luxuriant furnishings and art deco period flourishes create a stirring impression elsewhere on board, as you’ll discover in the double height Queens Room. Here, sip afternoon tea beneath ornate cantilevered balconies and specially commissioned stained glass panels or waltz across the intricate wooden dance floor, gloriously illuminated by the magnificent chandelier.
